10:30pm – HYF 2015 Preview Show: 60 From 60

With over 200 standup, improv, and sketch groups from all over the world taking the stage at Hell Yes Fest this year, it’s almost impossible to see every act of the festival.

Well, now you can. Sort of.

We asked all the acts booked at HYF 2015 to send us a 60-second video of anything – their best minute of standup, the weirdest idea they’ve ever had, their most recent embarrassing trip to the grocery store for diarrhea medicine – anything at all, and then we’re stringing 60 of those videos together into one hour-long video of absolute insanity. It’ll give you a taste and a peek at all the amazing talent pouring into Nola in the following weeks.

There will be free beer and other sweet surprises, so come get excited with us.

HYF: The Kickstarted Sketch Show

Hell Yes Film Fest: The Wiseau Awards

For the first time in its history, the Hell Yes Film Fest is hosting an awards show like no other. Dedicated to one of the greatest film directors of all time, Tommy Wiseau, the Wiseau Awards will celebrate all the best and worst films submitted to this year’s festival. A parade of actual celebrities and famous idiots will be presenting actual physical Wiseau Awards throughout the ceremony and we expect it to be exactly like the Oscars but a lot dumber and more prestigious.

HYF: Improv Workshop w/Vanessa Gonzalez

Sunday, November 16, 2014 @ 3:30pm-6pm
Cost: $25

Description:

Don’t Dwell on the Past w/Vanessa Gonzalez
When adding information or heightening in a scene we often get stuck in the past with lines like, “You always do this!” or “Remember what happened last week?” We all remember last week so let’s forget about it and deal with the present! Let’s break out of stagnate scenes and add information that we can play with to make our scenes more energetic. In this workshop we’ll focus on game and heightening in the present using character, relationship and environment.
