Megaphone Marathons

An annual comedy festival that spans three weekends and multiple cities in June 2011. Organized by The New Movement, owners and operators of comedy communities in Austin and New Orleans in association with Dallas Comedy House and Studio8.net. Our Facebook page is here and our event page is here.

June 1st, Houston

We’ve expanded! In only the 2nd year of our monstrous comedy event we’re exiting towards Houston on the way to New Orleans. There’s a collection of shows from TNM founders Chris Trew and Tami Nelson as well as a collection of Houston performers in a plethora of formats. The New Movement’s flagship event, The Megaphone Show is making it’s premiere in Space City!

The Houston Marathons will be held at Rudyard’s Pub on 2010 Waugh Drive.

Immediately following our debut in Houston, The Megaphone Marathons heads eat on I-10 to New Orleans, second home of The New Movement. The main difference between this year and last year in New Orleans is a whole mess of new locals trading in their spot in the audience for stage time.

The New Orleans Marathon will be held at The Shadowbox on 2400 St. Claude Ave.

We’re thrilled to be in Dallas for Year 2 of the Marathons. DCH is a beautiful venue with a full bar (oh boy!) located in fun Deep Ellum. Lots of DCH regulars will be joined by several caravans of Austin and New Orleans performers.
