Shows this Saturday- 8:00p and 9:30p

We aren’t trying to show off but we can’t help it. We just happen to have this wildly exciting line-up of improv notables coming through The New Movement in 2010. Our first mega-boss visitor of the year is one of i.O. Chicago’s preeminent talents, Jason Chin! Jason has been performing and teaching in Chicago at i.O. for a heap of years having trained a number of the nation’s current improv brass. Not only does he have impressive professional credentials, but he’s a totally beloved dude. Speaking to people who have studied under Jason is like talking to a crushed-out teen…”I’ve had a lot of really amazing instructors…but Jason was different for me…” and then hearts float up from their heads and a soundtrack of strings swell and horses start galloping in slo-mo. He’s just a charming, smart guy who can hold his own in the class and on stage as an astute and inspired performer. The New Movement is happy to present workshops and performances by Jason Chin this February.

Workshop description:
Dinner For Six- strip away everything. The edits, the transitions, the repartee, the jokes, all gone! And what do you have? Relationships. Here’s a form that will delve into the heart of the matter; the human heart and still be fun and funny. It’s improvised theater. This form has been a perennial favorite in Chicago to critical and audience acclaim for the past ten years.
Sunday February 7th 1:00-3:00p: $35/30 for students of TNM
