As adults we don’t allow time for ourselves to completely get lost in playfulness and fun. We forget how to really listen to each other and how to make ourselves more listenable. That’s why improv classes and workshops have become such a useful tool for companies interested in strengthening their teams. Improv is used in a multitude of fields to help people with confidence building, listening skills, cooperation and strengthen their focus in the creative process.
The fundamental philosophy of improv is “Yes, and…”, essentially – ultimate acceptance and idea building. When people listen to each others ideas and build on them together in a respectful and encouraging environment, solutions are found faster! Improv encourages positivity and values each individual as a part of the team. Our training is immediately applicable and most of all, learning improv is FUN!
Our workshops range from 2 hour sessions to full day intensives. We design all workshops to fit your needs, so price is dependent on the specifics of your program. We are happy to work within your budget. Standard workshop prices detailed below.
Groups (2-15 people) $100/person for 2-4 hours
Groups (15-30) $50/person for 2-4 hours

TNM’s improv workshop was extraordinarily valuable to our team. It was fun and entertaining, and a little uncomfortable at times, and yet we walked away with a totally fresh look at how we work together. Amy made every exercise, every comment, every funny moment applicable to our lives outside the theatre environment. She took the core principles of improv and turned them into tools that we can use every day. This workshop would have benefited every team of which I’ve ever been a part.
“Working with [Amy] and Justin was a tremendous success! At first I was hesitant to see if the opera singers, who typically have everything laid out for them before rehearsals even begin, would be flexible enough to participate in the program. With your guidance, they not only participated, but actually asked to perform more of the exercises in rehearsals after you left! Instead of viewing this as something else they were forced to do, they’ve embraced the improv ideas and look forward to seeing improv in Houston or Austin. I’m so thankful that you were able to come to Houston and work with Opera to Go!
In January our organization NEAWP (Nuptial Essentials Association of Wedding Professionals had the distinct pleasure of using The New Movement theatre for our annual gala. Their improv performance of our interactive wedding reception dinner theater provided unending entertainment from all the attendees. Amy was an extreme pleasure to work with in the planning process. Her creative inspiration and direction given to the actors exceeded my expectations. Many of our guests suggested they make this a regular performance for the general public. The New Movement Theatre group entertained a group of event planners by providing them endless and unexpected laughs throughout the entire evening. I look forward to the next time we use them!
During my professional career, I have worked in schools, I have worked in cubicles, I have worked inside my house. And, the only people I would ever trust to do team-building exercises are Chris and Tami. Trust falls = no. Chris and Tami = yes.
