We Made a Video: Vintage Live Shows #4

If you haven’t figured it out by now, TNM is all about the love. In the final chapter of “Vintage Live Performances”, immerse yourself in a sea of love and dance during TNM’s open mic night, “Block Party” where anything goes. It just so happens that this time, what goes is the sweet, sweet love that squids have for musical theater and similes. Enjoy!

We Made a Video: Vintage Live Shows #3

Who has memories of middle school and pet ownership?  I know that I do.  In this episode of “Vintage Live Performances”, let’s take a look at those special feelings as TNM explores the nuances of innocent adolescence, tiny doggies, and stitchwork.  The amazing ladies of TNM know how to probe the deepest recesses of the human psyche.  Don’t believe me?  Here’s the proof.

What’s more vintage than history? In the next installment of our “Vintage Live Performances” series, the always informative performers of TNM’s flagship show, “The Megaphone Show” fill our minds with knowledge and our hearts with patriotism. Who knew that history could be so much fun?

“The House that Drips Blood on Alex” showing at the Alamo Drafthouse this Friday

This weekend the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz in Austin is having a very special screening! A bizarre, blood-soaked, absurdist screening of “The Room”, the film that made Tommy Wiseau a cult celebrity, is being joined by our short film, created by Studio8 for Atom.com/Comedy Central, “The House that Drips Blood on Alex.” Spoiler Alert! The titular “Alex” is played by none other than Tommy Wiseau!

Cult sensations don’t come around every day, especially not with the hypnotic star power and comedic potential of Mr. Wiseau. Therefore, this one-night-only double feature is a real treat to get to see in a proper theater full of comedy cinephiles!

So don your silky red dress, put your pizza party in a box (or just order some fantastic pizza & cocktails from the folks at the Alamo Drafthouse), and saunter downtown for an exciting evening of eccentric, and totally freaking hilarious, cinema.

Oh, also, if you are into clandestine sneak preview action, check this! We are also working with Tommy Wiseau on the project “The Tommy Wi-Show” so stay tuned for that.

We Made a Video: Vintage Live Shows #1

Hey guys, here’s a fun fact!  Did you know that there are officially 329,743 vintage shops in Austin*?  (*Official fact unofficially confirmed)  That’s a lot of pearl snap shirts and fringe vests.  In the spirit of things that are from the past and awesome, what say we take a look at some vintage live performances from TNM?  We could call this short series “Vintage Live Performances”!  In this video series, we’ll re-experience some of the most epic moments that the super talented performers from New Movement Theater have had in front of actual live people.  So whadya say, wanna slide into a vintage jean jacket of comedy?  I promise it won’t smell of moth balls…

In the first video of our “Vintage Live Performances” series, we get a little slice of life from a pretty significant deity.  For one so powerful and omniscient, you’d think it be smooth sailing, but let’s see.  We also get some funky beats dropped all over us.  -Adam Artho
