8:00p Level 1 Improv (REGISTER HERE)

Level 1: Introduction to Improv $150

Our introductory level of improv familiarizes students with the fundamentals and vocabulary of long form improvisation. We believe that students best learn by experience and by example. Therefore, we begin playing on stage on day one of classes. Our students learn specific skills to help them make the most fun and interesting choices at the top of the scene. All students are encouraged to attend TNM shows and events (all shows free for students!) and see for themselves what we mean when we say “if we treat each other like rock stars or geniuses on stage, that’s what we’ll be.”

Mumbleoke is Coming!

What in the world is Mumbleoke? Like the title implies, it’s a chance for plucky individuals to sing their hearts out onstage. But, as the title also suggests, the words will be all wrong; that is, if they’re doing it right. That’s how Mumbleoke works! It’s the only karaoke competition where not knowing the words is a competitor’s biggest advantage.

It all goes down in three rounds: first, performers wow the audience with a prepared routine. Second round? Some audience participation! And the third round is a medley. The rules are simple: don’t say the right thing. Make up new lyrics, speak Klingon, meow for a minute, whatever — just be prepared to nail “With Arms Wide Open” so hard it would make Scott Stapp weep. He’s always had a soft spot for Klingon cats.
