Archives: July 2011

11:45p Smut City

Our montly show curated by Devon Tincknell explores the world of pornography.  But not just any pornography.  They type of pornography you take home to Mom.  Previous months showings include Cafe Flesh, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, and most recently Raw Talent (which was awesome).  Show starts at 12am.

10:30p HANDBOMB w/ the Chris Trew Experience

They killed the Residency in July and now they are making the summer oh so cool late August.  Their unique brand of improv has been described as “charming” and “only slightly offensive” and “italian food” but we aren’t really sure what that last one means.  They at one point had a script “in development” with the CW and are always thinking of starting a Kickstarter account for a Comedy Hall of Fame called the Handbomb Building.  Opening for them is Chris Trew and as always, hosted by local heart throb Andy DeVoe.  Show starts at 10:30p!

9p Tura Tura w/ Deathbag

Tura Tura is Jenna Marie Carey and Jasmine T. Morrell but they are oh, so much more than that.  This dynamic duo delves deep into the psyche of a single scene all the while building tension, drama, and, oh yeah, its funny too.  Opening for them is one of TNM’s newest house troupes, DEATHBAG.  Oh, yeah.  You’ve just been goosebumped.  Doors at 9 y’all.

10:30p Breese and Dodo Variety Showdo

A variety show in the style of Carol Burnett or Sonny and Cher, there will be an opening monologue, musicial acts, stand-up, sketches, sketch-prov, special guest stars, and canned laughter.  But that’s not all!  Your hosts with the mosts will be the immoveable Mike Breese and the always delightful Mikey Dodo.  If you are shopping for a spectacle, you’ve found it.  Doors at 10:30p

9p Ripkin

Our Bat (improv in the dark) is like a radio show but unlike one you’ve ever heard.  Perhaps if you mixed War of the Worlds with some conservative radio pundit on pain pills (…) and just a dash of Lewis Carrol it could be close.  Maybe.  Ripkin is always an experience so come out and allow your mind to wander.  Doors at 9p and we are a BYOB establishment.

“Wildly talented and relentlessly inventive.” – The Austin Chronicle
