Fanatic Feature: Kristin and Todd take on Comedy Together
If great minds think alike, what do you call it when funny minds join together to make a comedic force larger than a pen and paper can handle? Well when you’ve got a pair like Kristin Hillery and Todd Nienkerk working with you, you’ve got a endless recipe for the funny. The couple is currently in the sketch class at TNM, which is in the works already and set to go down July 16, 17 at 19 at 8pm, and are currently putting together scenes with themes of Tiger Beat writers and Nazis, just to name a few. They’re fresh, they’re cuddly, and they look dashing in matching holiday sweaters. We sat down with the couple to find out a little more about them! Let’s meet Kristin and Todd!
How did you first get involved with The New Movement?
Kristin: We were looking for something a little less progressive than The Newest Movement, so it seemed like a good fit.
What classes are you currently taking at TNM?
Todd: Sketch Comedy Writing and Hot Fruit Arrangements.
You guys are an adorable comedy duo- have you guys always been comedians and how did you get to be so funny?
Kristin: I was born a comedian.
Todd: And I have a tumor in my brain that makes me funny. The tumor itself isn’t very funny, though, because it will eventually kill me.
Kristin: I take that back. I wasn’t really born a comedian. Growing up, my parents always told me I was a joke, so I guess I’m trying to live up to their expectations.
What funny projects are you guys currently working on?
Todd: Getting the sexually transmitted IBS under control.
Kristin: Be serious.
Todd: Getting the sexually transmitted IBS OUT OF CONTROL!
If you could pin down each others’ comedic writing styles, what would you call it and why?
Todd: Kristin’s writing reminds me of Steve Martin’s. She’s brilliantly absurd and unafraid of being perceived as un-hip.
Kristin: I would call Todd’s writing style “okay, I guess.”

KROD is GOD!!! These guys are hilarious.
So does this mean there’s a show on July 16 or what? I want to see funny. But watching other people attend a sketch comedy class might be more funny-awkward.
Me likey ride my bikey!
