What is Geekscape.net?

Geekscape is the website for our growing community of movies, videogame and comic book fans. Most people call us geeks… but we call ourselves Geekscapists. We scour the universe for geek news and stories that we find exciting and then share that excitement with each other! I invite everyone to check it out!

Who is involved in Geekscape?

Geekscape is a community based around a collective love of Movies, Videogames and Comics. Anyone who enjoys those things is involved in Geekscape… they just don’t know it yet. They’ve been celebrating and geeking out on those things their entire lives. Geekscape just gives them a place to concentrate their love in one place and share it with other fans. It’s constantly growing beyond what we started all by ourselves on my girlfriend’s couch three years ago. A lot got started on that couch. I’m now marrying her. See how Geekscape works? You put your love and excitement out there and it comes right back ten-fold!

What kind of a show are you putting on for SXSW?

It’s a mix of my geek-centric stand up, improv sketch comedy with the New Movement crew and a screening of my short film Gay By Dawn. It’s should be a lot of fun.

What can you expect from this show?

Making people laugh and everyone having a good time. I’m excited to see what The New Movement is all about!

What is on the horizon for Geekscape?

We have a booth at the San Diego Comic Con this summer so that’ll give us a chance to meet more Geekscapists and say hello. There’ll be lots of interviews and geek content coming up in addition to some narrative shorts we’re making with some new partners. Expect some new merch on the web store. We’re also sponsoring a few events like this summer’s Hollywood Outdoor Cinema in L.A. and ZomBCom in Seattle this Halloween. If it looks like fun, I think it’s important for Geekscape to be there! That’s why I’m excited to join up with Chris and Tammy and The New Movement!
